Dental Practice Growth Lab is an independent site for dentists who own their practice and want a fuller schedule without signing a year-long agreement to find out whether the marketing works.

Who writes it

Steve Meitler is the editor. He has spent years running growth campaigns for local service businesses, dental practices among them, and has sat through enough vendor calls to know what they are missing: numbers a practice owner can verify. Everything published here is written so you can check it.

Where the benchmark numbers come from

The benchmark report is built from public Google Business Profile listings. We search Google Maps for dental practices in every US state, collect the public fields on each listing (review count, star rating, website link, hours, primary category, location), remove duplicates by Google place ID, and compute the statistics. Nothing is taken from behind a login. No patient information touches this dataset, and no reviewer names or review text are stored. The set currently holds 86,875 listings across 51 states and is refreshed monthly.

Collection at that scale produces errors. Some multi-location groups list each office separately and some do not. Treat every figure as accurate to within a point or two, not to the decimal.

Editorial rules

  • No pay-to-play. No vendor, lab, DSO or software company can buy a mention, a recommendation or a ranking here.
  • Every number is sourced, either to our own dataset or to a primary source such as Google's documentation or the HHS guidance on protected health information. Where we give an opinion, we say so in the sentence.
  • Guides are written for a dentist who is chairside all day and reads this at 8pm. If a step cannot be done by an owner or handed to an office manager, it does not go in.
  • We stay conservative on compliance. Where a tactic is common but sits close to a HIPAA line, we say where the line is rather than pretending it is not there.
  • Guides get updated when the platforms change, and every update is dated.

How the free trial works

This site is funded by the marketing work we do for dental practices. Every service is offered as a free 14-day trial because a practice owner should watch the phone ring before paying anybody. You text or call, tell us which service you want to try (Google Ads, Meta ads, AI search optimization, local SEO and Google profile work, a website, social media, review generation, missed-call text-back and follow-up, email and SMS recall campaigns, bookkeeping, or appointment setting), and we build it inside your own accounts, usually within 48 hours of a 20-minute setup call.

It runs 14 days. No card is on file and nothing renews. At the end you keep it at a price quoted before the trial started, switch, or stop. Everything built stays in your accounts either way.

Text or call (385) 832-6175, or use the free trial page.

Try any marketing service free for 14 days.

Pick anything we do. We run it for your dental practice for two full weeks at no cost, then you decide. No card, no contract, nothing to cancel.
